This shoe is advertised as a running shoe, but it's not. It's a cross-trainer. If you read the description closely, it says, "Designed for ALL-AROUND (my emphasis) training, it delivers well-cushioned comfort, mile after mile." I didn't read the description until after I received the shoe. I run an average of about 35 miles/wk and thought I had ordered a pure running shoe, since it's called a running shoe in the title. My old shoes were worn, and I started to develop shin splints. I ordered these because they were so cheap. Now I know why.
Just looking at them, I thought these shoes looked like cross-trainers. They're not very flexible, and have a tennis-shoe feel to them. I wore them on a few 3 - 4 mile runs and my shinsplints came back.
These shoes are good for weight lifting at the gym, and maybe some very light cardio. If you're a serious runner, buy another shoe - a RUNNING shoe. I bought some Saucony shoes today, ran 5 miles, and the difference was amazing. I had no pain in my shins, and the cushioning was like running on clouds. With the Adidas Vanquish 3, it was like I was clopping about in tennis shoes.
